Selangor FC Cautious Of Pahang's New Players

Selangor will kick off the 2nd round of the Super League 2021 tonight against Sri Pahang FC at the Darul Makmur Stadium, Kuantan, Pahang at 10pm.

For the record, the Red Giants managed to grab their first win of the season against Tok Gajah during the first round last March with a 3-1 win, two goals by Oliver Buff and one from Shahrel Fikri.

Selangor arrived in Pahang yesterday and had a training session at the MPK Field to make the final preparations before playing against the Tok Gajah tonight. Watch the training video here.

This match is an important match for the Selangor FC team to close the points gap and strengthen its position in the 5th place in the league after successfully bringing home 3 points last week. Watch highlights of the #PJCSEL match here.

When asked about the new import players of the Sri Pahang FC, Selangor FC head coach Karsten Neitzel said whoever made to the starting line up tonight, all of his boys are ready.

"Of course, tonight's Sri Pahang FC will list their new import players. I'm not sure if they (new import players) will be listed or not, but from the first match of the league until the recent action, I saw a lot of improvement in the Sri Pahang FC team," he said.

"For that, I'm sure we are ready with whatever the opponent's plans are for tonight's match. We have to show our best performance and give everything we have to whoever is listed in their starting lineup and reserve players,” Karsten added.

Karsten also said he was happy with the attitude of his reserve players as they often put in a good performance as well as helping in maintaining the momentum of the match every time they were called up for substitution.

"For me it is very important to communicate with the players on the bench. Sometimes I have to explain why they don't play and I get a good response from them.”

“If they have questions, they will ask and I try to be honest with them. As a result, they performed well when they were subbed on. Hopefully we can continue this understanding and positive attitude forever," explained Karsten.

As for the players, the Red Giants were unable to list Nik Sharif Haseefy (ankle injury), Halim Saari (ACL), Wan Zack Haikal (right knee injury) and Tim Heubach to the team sheet due to injury factors.

Apart from that, Safuwan Baharudin who had to be subbed off during the first half against PJ City FC last Sunday due to a concussion injury has already undergone a rehabilitation session and will likely be listed tonight.

The latest position of the Red Giants in the Super League 2021 chart is in 5th place with 18 points accumulated as a result of five wins, three draws and three defeats, while Sri Pahang FC is in 11th place.

Hopefully, three full points will be brought home by Selangor FC tonight. Come on, Red Giant!

Demi kebanggaan.
